POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Generalist will assist with daily operations of the Human Resources Department. The diversity of responsibilities involves employee onboarding and recruitment, payroll administration and compliance. As support to Senior HR management, the Generalist must be detail-oriented processes and have interpersonal skills to help administer various HR initiatives for internal and external personnel. This includes being responsible for attracting candidates, evaluating resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, and maintaining the necessary paperwork. The Generalist will work to ensure that all Human Resource tasks and activities will be delivered at the highest standards to meet the mission of not only the Department, but the YMCA, the expectations of the staff and customers, all applicable state, county and American Camp Association standards, and the best interests of Frost Valley YMCA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, workers compensation, unemployment claims, benefits billing and entering data into HR information systems ensuring accuracy for compliance and audit purposes
- Create job posts and edit job descriptions for departments based on their hiring needs
- Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, termination letters, and other Frost Valley documents
- Schedule, and facilitate new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional experience
- Assist with facilitating new hire orientation by communicating HR policies, internal procedures and regulations
- Maintaining physical and digital files for employee records including benefits, workers compensation and wage administration Collaborating with outside vendors, upper management and employees to maintain excellent relationships
- Document and address employee grievances. Coordinate disciplinary action according to Frost Valley Policy and procedures. Review feedback with Chief People Officer to strategize about programs to benefit workplace safety and culture
- Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience
- Ensure that Frost Valley achieves the highest standard and meets the mission and goals of the organization.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two years of experience in the HR field
- SHRM-PHR or CP preferred. Other combinations of applicable education, training and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to perform the position requirements effectively will be considered.
- High degree of initiative; ability to work independently as a self starter as well as a leader and collaborate with the Frost Valley team
- Interpersonal skills with a personal commitment to integrity, teamwork, achievement of departmental and organizational objectives
- Possess and maintain the highest level of confidentiality with sensitive information
- Adept written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
- Committed to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
- Possess facilitation skills with the ability to appropriately and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and prior experience with HRIS systems; Google including Google Docs and Calendar
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
