The Difference Principle, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting other nonprofits in realizing their visions and fulfilling their missions. We offer high-quality back-office administration and support services to independent nonprofit organizations in addition to our two social justice subsidiary organizations, JusticePoint and Sirona Recovery.

The HR Specialist will support the human resource department to ensure efficient operations. The HR Specialist will assist in administrative tasks in every area of HR, including recruiting and onboarding, employee training, benefits administration, and database management.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with Human Resources Manager, CHRO and Agency Administrators/Deputy Administrators (or their designees), coordinate training processes for leadership and staff on both program-by-program and network-wide bases to ensure that all contractual and agency-determined training requirements are met. Utilize Learning Management System for training delivery (as applicable) to track training dosage for all employees.
  • Gather follow-up evaluations of all completed training.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in training programs.
  • Arrange travel and lodging with vendors and third-party training providers.
  • Support HR Manager in all areas of new employee recruitment including job posting, applicant screening, reference checking, interview scheduling, paperwork management, etc.
  • Assist with preparation for job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Support HR Manager with benefits administration and tracking.
  • Maintain personnel files both electronic and paper. Handle employment verification inquiries.
  • Assist in all tasks involved in new employee onboarding.
  • Support HR Manager in management of timekeeping/payroll systems. Help support employees in use of these systems.
  • Collect agency incident and emergency reporting systems and documents.
  • Assist with collection of forms for employee audits as well as Roster Management as required by third-party contracting agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:

  • High level proficiency in technical areas such as Microsoft Office; including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficient in the use of web enabled databases a must.
  • Strong, transparent, high integrity professional who will maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and efficient processes.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders and internal management and staff effectively and cooperatively.
  • Ability to interact effectively and sensitively with individuals from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Associate’s degree required.
  • Human resources certificate a plus but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
