The HR Generalist is responsible for the day to day HR Support of their assigned service provider team(s), including recruiting, sourcing and partnering. This position involves a very high level of recruiting.

Duties:

  • Recruits, screens and interviews candidates to determine technical skills and cultural fit in the agency; selects employees to fill vacant positions and extends job offers.
  • Conducts background checks for new hires.
  • Onboarding of new employees including conducting new employee orientation.
  • Attend on-site and off-site job fairs and networking events.
  • Trains management on various HR topics such as performance reviews, HR law, and the recruiting process.
  • Assists benefits team in collecting enrollment forms, qualifying life event forms, and answers basic benefits questions.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Prepares verification letters for employees as needed.
  • Assists in preparing and revising job descriptions and performance reviews as necessary.
  • Participates in staff meetings as required.
  • Attends team meetings for program staff as necessary.
  • Assists with planning and carrying out employee events.
  • May assist management with employee recognition and appreciation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: Two to four years' related experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn other computer programs quickly. Strong background in recruiting a must!
