Position Overview
Central Texas Food Bank is invested in building a culture of service and high performance. To support this endeavor, we are looking to hire a Director of Human Resources who will deliver a full spectrum of deliverables with a focus on recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations and performance management to align with our strategy, goals, values and culture. In addition, you will partner with leadership and provide direct support to team members seeking guidance on a diverse range of topics.

Relationships
This role reports to the Chief Talent Officer and oversees one direct report. The Director of Human Resources is a highly visible position within the Food Bank and liaises externally with various vendors. This position must be collaborative and exhibits leadership values by modeling the way.

Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of human resource management experience required, including leading full cycle recruitment, performance management, compliance, and benefits administration.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct management experience
  • Impeccable discretion, judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Capable of seeing the “big picture” and long-term goals.
  • Commitment to change management, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Communicates and responds with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to use data and statistics to solve real-world HR problems.

Your Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the daily workflow of recruitment, performance management, compliance, employee relations and benefits administration portions of the department; may include completing administrative tasks from time to time to ensure the work is complete.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement CTFB’s human resources strategy, establishing accountability, identifying solutions to resolve problems, and fostering a workplace that enables all team members to contribute to the organization at their full potential.
  • Support CTFB’s culture focusing on service and high-performance.
  • Guide and coach management team regarding performance improvement to include disciplinary action, work plans and termination of employees in accordance with company policy while ensuring timely and proper communication with the Chief Talent Officer.
  • Document, enhance, develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures to improve the overall effectiveness of the organization.
  • Facilitate and provide guidance in HR matters according to CTFB policies, procedures and federal/state laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, talent acquisition, human resources, and benefits administration.
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Support the development and management of CTFB health, wellness and benefits strategies to balance goals and contain costs.
  • Actively supports organization’s values, goals and objectives by leading by example
  • Demonstrates support of organizational message without blaming other departments, leaders or providing personal opinions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
  • Hours of Operation: Generally Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, some evening and weekend hours may be required especially during peak times, disaster response, or holidays. 3 consistent days onsite required with 2 days remote (if requested), with the understanding the needs of the business may require more onsite days.
  • Environment: This position requires sitting for long periods of the time, utilizing computers, laptops, and other technology, and may include working at distribution sites outside. The position also requires working alone and with others on a team.
  • Travel: CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires same-day travel between counties, using a personal vehicle, CTFB passenger fleet and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, special events or meeting for some positions.
