Position Summary 
Reporting to the Senior Director of Athletics Development/Senior Associate 
Director of Athletics, the Director of Athletics Development/Associate Director of 
Athletics works closely with colleagues within DAUR and Athletics Department to 
maximize philanthropic support for Fordham Athletics.  
 
Frequent evening and weekend work and/or travel is required for related sporting 
events, DAUR functions, and other University events during some seasons.  
 
The Director Athletics Development, will conduct him or herself in the spirit of
DAUR’s core values and within the boundaries of NCAA rules and regulations.
 
Essential Functions 
∙Manages and executes athletics fundraising activities, including major 
gifts, leadership annual gifts, and direct marketing. 
∙Cultivates, solicits, closes and stewards a portfolio of 75-100 
donors/prospects capable of giving $25,000 or more and assists the 
senior director of athletics development/senior associate director of 
athletics and senior DAUR colleagues in soliciting and closing principal 
gifts. 
∙Ensures efficient annual giving solicitations and stewardship marketing 
pieces. 
∙Collaborates with the director of athletics, coaches and staff to determine 
and prioritize fundraising opportunities for the department and individual 
teams. 
∙Coordinates with the Fordham Fund to plan and execute athletic-specific 
Giving Tuesday and Fordham Giving Day opportunities. 
∙Develops and executes annual fundraising plans for the Athletics 
Department and each component team. 
∙Plans and runs all Fordham Athletics special events/fundraisers, such as 
receptions, fundraising dinners, golf outings, galas, etc. 
∙Collaborates with DAUR in planning and executing cultivation, fundraising, 
and stewardship events; and works closely with the Alumni Relations team 
to plan and execute events in conjunction with games both in New York 
and throughout the U.S. 
∙Identifies cultivation opportunities prospects donors to engage with the 
student-athletes. 
∙Supports Gridiron Club, Rebounders Club, and Hall of Fame committee 
meetings.

Management Responsibilities 
Supervises the work of other Fordham employees who are individual 
contributors. Responsible for hiring, training and developing, managing 
performance and administering corrective action. Has significant input in 
compensation decisions. 
 
Additional Functions 
∙When appropriate, ensures that Athletics has a meaningful presence at 
regional events, reunion events (Jubilee), and Homecoming.
 
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
∙Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, business, or related field. 
∙Minimum of 6 years of fundraising experience, preferably in Athletics 
fundraising, or equivalent. 
∙Demonstrated success personally securing six and seven-figure 
commitments.

∙Exceptional communication skills. 
∙Demonstrates excellent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving 
skills. 
∙Promotes collegiality among team members. 
∙Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. 
∙Keen eye for detail. 
∙Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to 
the goals of Jesuit Education. 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
∙Passion for Intercollegiate Athletics and familiarity with Fordham 
University. 
∙Solid command of database and CRM tools (Ellucian CRM Advance).
 
Minimum Starting Salary: $95,000 
 
Maximum Starting Salary: $115,000 
 
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
