Summary
:

The Office Coordinator meets administrative and secretarial requirements for department management.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Meets administrative and secretarial requirements of the Department Supervisor of the office.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly office environment.
  • Monitors safe and reliable functioning of office equipment and facility.
  • Trains and oversees the work of clerical staff in all functional areas.
  • Communicates with other offices, hospital departments, and outside agencies.
  • Researches appointment, scheduling, billing and customer service problems for patients/families.
  • Works with the Department Supervisor to develop systems/procedures to help the office run more efficiently.
  • Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

 

  • Experience in a front office medical function is required.
  • Experience with maintaining confidential information is required.
  • Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Electronic Medical Record software and scheduling software is preferred.

 


Education and Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • Certification: None.
  • Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
  • Years of experience supervising: None.
