Position Summary:
HR Generalist supports and facilitates human resources programs, policies, and processes for The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod including talent acquisition, onboarding and orientation, payroll, recordkeeping, learning and development, and compliance.
Essential Job Function:
· Onboarding and Orientation: Schedule new hires for onboarding and orientation. Conduct background screening(s) for new hires. Ensure all new hire paperwork has been completed and appropriately filed. Data Entry of new hire into HRIS/Payroll system(s). Participate in and support the orientation programs provided at The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod.
· Recordkeeping and Tracking: Maintain employee files, CORI files, Form I-9 files and ensuring files are kept current and compliant. Tracking of certifications, drivers’ licenses, performance evaluations, annual physicals, and other ongoing requirements pertinent to licensing and gives managers and employees advance notice of when updates to documentation due.
· Learning and Development: Work with the HR Director and management team to support Learning and Development programs, including tracking and filing of trainings and certifications in employee files.
· Employee Relations: As assigned.
· Leave Management: As assigned.
Requirements (Knowledge and Critical Skills):
· Must be able to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships and develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
· Must have strong customer service skills.
· Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Must have strong math skills.
· Must have solid organization skills.
· Must be ethical.
· Must have attention to detail.
· Must have high level of proficiency with computers. Able to learn different software systems.
· Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
· Must have a basic knowledge of Payroll and HR principles and procedures for recruitment, selection, payroll processing, and information systems.
· Must be able to remain in stationary position 50% of the time
· Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
· General office environment, should be able to move about to access file cabinets, supplies, and lift/carry up to 15 pounds.
· Demonstrate conduct in keeping with The Arc of Greater Plymouth’s Ethical Code of Conduct
· Demonstrate professionalism and commitment to teamwork at all times.
· Attends all mandatory in-services, safety training and annual trainings.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
One to three years of experience in Human Resources or in a position with responsibility for administering parts of human resources. Prior payroll processing experience strongly preferred.
Valid MA Driver’s License
