has an immediate opening for a
Coordinator, Human Resources
The University of Illinois Foundation is the official fundraising and private gift-receiving organization of the University of Illinois. It works closely with alumni and friends, faculty and staff, corporations and foundations, as well as campus development professionals to create fundraising programs and opportunities that benefit the University.
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of designated human resource operational activities including talent acquisition, wellness programs, staff engagement and rewards and recognition. This position will also focus on compiling and analyzing a variety of HR related metrics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers and facilitates UIF’s talent acquisition practices. Implements creative recruiting strategies to maintain a qualified pipeline of candidates for UIF positions. Acts as the primary liaison to hiring managers during hiring processes.
- Facilitates and directly administers all processes required for job offers, including background/reference check compliance and offer letters.
- Leads UIF in the coordination of Wellness activities and events, as well as any support needed during the activities or events. Administer and communicate employee rewards and recognition programs. Administration of UIF’s Well Designation and serves on Wellness Committee.
- Works as part of a wider HR operations team to deliver high standards of service while consistently following the law and policy of UIF.
- Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS), management and employee surveys, exit interviews, and other sources. Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, engagement, and turnover.
- Maintains UIF’s HR Policy Manual and Handbook.
- Coordinates and tracks FMLA/LOA leaves. Communicates with employees and managers during FMLA process.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Minimum of three years of human resources experience with proven progression of duties
- Proven ability to act independently while exercising good judgement
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and writing
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources
- General knowledge of laws and regulations relating to recruiting, hiring and HR policy in Illinois.
- HR certified (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) desired
