Job Description

University of New Hampshire’s Veterinary Technology Program is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Faculty Member to join our team. This position is ideal for experienced professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of veterinary technicians.

Position Overview:
As an adjunct faculty member teaching VTEC 580: Small Animal Practicum II, this position involves performing canine and feline spays and neuters, as well as collaborating with a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) instructor to reinforce anesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing topics. This course will run during the spring semester on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (8 hour/week).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform spay and neuter surgeries on canines and felines.
  • Support students in clinical skills.
  • Maintain a safe and effective learning environment.

Required Qualifications

  • A Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine awarded by an AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) accredited program.
  • A current New Hampshire license in good standing.
  • Experience in performing surgical procedures on small animals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; teaching experience is a plus.

Salary Information

Salary rates are set based on each candidate’s education and experience, job responsibilities, internal equity and or available department funding.
